General Conference 2016 Petitions deadline is next Tuesday


Nashville, Tenn — If you’ve been thinking about submitting a petition to the 2016 General Conference it’s time to shift into high gear as the deadline is just around the corner. All petitions to make changes in United Methodist law and doctrine must be submitted by next Tuesday, October 13, 2015.

Any United Methodist is eligible to submit a petition to change provisions in The United Methodist Book of Discipline or The United Methodist Book of Resolutions. As petitions are submitted, they are categorized, with similar petitions being grouped together for consideration.
