Plan UMC

Plan UMC is a proposal for restructuring the work of The United Methodist Church that was originally considered and approved at the 2012 General Conference only to be ruled unconstitutional by the United Methodist Judicial Council. A group of clergy and lay leaders in the UMC have reworked the plan to bring it in compliance with the church’s constitution (although the Judicial Council chose to defer review of the plan until after the 2016 General Conference has considered the legislation). The plan has generally been opposed by the United Methodist Boards and Agencies (who would be affected by the legislation) and the Connectional Table.

This page contains materials provided by the authors of the legislation to help delegates and others better understand what is being proposed and the impact of the restructuring plan.
